About an hour drive from the town of Abashiri lies a park covered by pink moss. A long name – Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park.
Good for photos + a few snack shops. Prices of snacks are quite consistent across the country. Oh, this park comes with a go-kart circuit – meh, cause the cars are speed limited and the track is boring.
Want something slightly closer? Visit the Shiretoko-goto lakes. Nice place for photos and to just admire the landscape. This place reminded me of New Zealand – tranquil area + mountains as far as the eyes can see.
