To-dos in Wanaka, New Zealand

After Te Anau, we made our way northwards to Wanaka. The car journey will take about 3 hours without stops. Instead of going back along State Highway 6 (SH6), we decided to drive up along the hazardous, winding Crown Range Road towards Wanaka. And my, it was a great drive.

Let’s just say that if it isn’t snowing and the road conditions are good, you need to try driving through Crown Range Road en route to Wanaka.

You may have noticed that I’ve yet to start talking about the activities IN Wanaka.🙂 Simply put, there was only so much we could do as we only stayed a night at Wanaka. Now, finally, onto the things we did at Wanaka:

Puzzling World

This is not a must-do thingy, but no harm going in to enjoy some optical illusions. Entrance tickets would need to be bought at the counter. The only thing that stood out to me (and seriously played with my mind) was ‘Ames Room’ and ‘Tilted House’. The rest can be enjoyed in Singapore Discovery Centre or Science Centre.🙂

The Scenery

Good things can come free. And in New Zealand, there is no lack of things to look at. Things being the scenery, God’s masterpiece.🙂 That evening, we got a treat. We enjoyed the view of Lake Wanaka while seeing an owner and her dog playing fetch. Too cute.

Shops

As with other major towns in New Zealand, shops abound. Gifts, restaurants, ice cream parlours, fish-and-chips, bars, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. Just explore the town. Not a complicated town. Have fun!
