Let’s just say that the food was alright.
The next day…
We ate breakfast in our room – cornflakes and milk (provided free by the lodge; referring to the milk) – and cooked our own dinner at night with fresh produce from the supermarket in Twizel. All in a bit to save money. If you think that Singapore is an expensive place to live in, I suggest you think again.
So, for lunch, we popped by Poppies Cafe (recommended by TripAdvisor).
We ordered “Poppies Breakfast”, “Lamb Burger” and “Fish of the Day. No complaints. My family’s appetite is quite small and the serving size of food in NZ is relatively large, so… We told ourselves to get two meals, but we got three with some scones. Yay for weight management. After some walking around, we bought some ice cream. And we love the experience as the ice cream stayed hard for a longer time. No more melting mess of cream. On this note, when you are in NZ, you have to try their Tip Top ice cream. It really isn’t too bad. Hint: Buy your Tip Tops at supermarkets – cheaper.
