Consumers who own Aztech routers, are you having problems with iTunes WiFi Sync or Home Sharing?
You will need to DISABLE “AP ISOLATION” under’ ‘Wireless’ – ‘Settings‘ in Aztech’s web interface for iTunes WiFi Sync and Home Sharing to work. After you disable this, all other applications (RemoteMouse, Remote, Keynote’s remote, etc) that require WiFi communication between your various iDevices should function properly.
Wasted a whole day trying to figure this out.
Ruby from Apple guided me through a step-by-step diagnosis and we figured that the router was the main culprit (because WiFi sync worked seamlessly when I used personal hotspot).
Aztech’s customer service wasn’t helpful at all, and they tried to smoke (bluff) me by asking me to configure port forwarding and static-IP nonsense. And oh yes, the person (not a Singaporean) from Aztech’s technical hotline was rather sarcastic throughout the call.
Being nice and all, I called Apple (1800-my-apple) again to provide them feedback about this compatibility issue. Was secretly hoping they will mail me a new iDevice…#fathope
